Roma - Day 2 in pics

The neighborhood where I'm staying at

I've been bitten by a mosquito. Eeewwwww...

 the colosseum from the bus

Watering hole outside the Vatican City

St. Peter's Square from the Cupola

this painting is one of the many paintings displayed inside the St. Peter's Basilica.
this painting is so familiar, but i don't know who made it

mosaic along the entrance of the cupola

curved wall on our right meant we are nearing the top of the basilica

The St. Peter's Square from the Cupola. The Castelo d'Angelo is to the left of the opposite end of the road leading to the square. Beyond is the Emmanuel Monument and Colosseum.

 Inside the St. Peter's Basilica

 Micahel Angelo's La Pieta

Blessed John Paul's resting place at the St. Sebastian's Chapel

 Swiss Guard
 In the Square :)

Columns surrounding the Square. Standing a specific point, these columns appear as single file, instead of three-rowed.

The Filipino store just outside the St. Peter's Square

 To the Gelato Place! :)

Motorcycles all over the streets of Rome

I would not have noticed this McDonald's place if we didn't stop here for a walking break

The Trevi Fountain at Plazza Navona

Super crowded, isn't it? This is just at one side.

Tossed coins. One article I read said that one person who collected all these coins earned around 180,000USD/year and the Italian courts ruled that he is not 'stealing' public money. Caritas who tried to stop this person from scooping out the coins collect the coins on Sundays. Cool, isn't?

A bird in its watering hole at the Trevi Fountain
