roller coaster ride

ETA 20:30 Memmingen

Our plane arrived in Memmingen, Germany around 8:00 PM. The ride was pretty exciting as I had Melanie to talk to and tell each other our story. Mel is a student from Boca Raton, Florida (but who doesn't speak any Spanish at all) who is still not sure about what to do in her life and decided to take up her teacher's suggestion of becoming an au pair for a year in Munich. She's a nice person to talk to because she was so animated and the flight seemed to be short. We were having so much fun that we were probably the noisiest people on the plane, just as if we were already friends for a long time. I noticed the guy in front of us was always trying to look at the back, wondering who these two noisy girls were!!! Hehehe.

Probably the most noisy instance for us during the plane ride was when the ride got a bit bumpy due to turbulence. It was pretty scary because the plane kept on moving up and down and the bump was really strong. So Mel and I just kinda talked it off in loud voices and laughing. We were saying that if we crash landed and die, at least we die laughing! Wasn't that crazy?!

And there was also this advertisement on board the plane when they try to sell food and other stuff. Mel had a little understanding of German and she couldn't help but laugh when they had so many things to sell. She said it's like the tv selling commercials with "Wait, there's more!" :)

Mel was seated in the E seat while I was seated in the F/window seat. To her left, there was this guy who was doing some work -- and it was impressive. So Melanie kept on looking at it until she couldn't help herself and engaged the guy in a conversation. She asked what his work is and apparently, this guy is an architect.

When we were nearing Memmingen, the view from the window just took my breath away -- the mountains' green was just perfect, so beautiful! This must be part of the famous Black Forest and I couldn't help but just marvel at its beauty. And when we disembarked from the plane, we were greeted by trees all around the runway -- and cold, strong breeze! It was freezingly cold! Brrrrr....

Next, carpooled with Mel to the train station as my hostel was said to be walking distance from it and she had to catch the train to Munich. It was a short acquaintance with Mel but it was a lovely one. Thank God for a good companion.

Cab fare was 11Euro (6Euro each; additional 1Euro for tip).
