new year's eve dinner at our house
it all starts with a very short list. following chinese traditions, we just need a little of everything. a little sweet, a little sour, and so on for a well balanced year. for me, there must just be a black forest cake from myrna's and i'm okay. then my mom would add this, ask for this, wants this and we again, just like last year and the year before that, have a very full table during the family's new year's eve dinner. just notice that we don't serve any chicken. they say it's bad luck. a chicken has a habit of "isang kahig, isang tuka."
